About the VBRUA:
The Virginia Babe Ruth Umpires Association was established in 2009.
A review of State tournament costs indicated that the cost for umpires to the host leagues was not close to being standard. To that end, the State Board voted to establish the Association and annually review and set fees for State tournaments that will be competitive, yet not break the bank, and will also provide an opportunity for smaller leagues to compete for hosting rights.
The umpires that have joined this Association have agreed to perform officiating in accordance with the provisions and compensation schedule of the Association.
