2013 IMPORTANT DATES INFORMATION

CHANGES TO INSURANCE INVOICE

Because of insurance regulation changes, local leagues that have Babe Ruth Insurance (approx 80% of our leagues) are required to send in ONE (1) check for charter and past dues balances and ONE (1) check for K&K Insurance Group for insurance. When the league completes the charter process, they will hit print invoice and this year it will print 2 pages instead of 1. Each invoice can be matched up with the check and placed in the same envelope and mailed to Headquarters. Headquarters will still process and then ship the insurance portion on to K&K. This is outlined in detail in the brochure and there will be emails to the leagues notifying them of that.

� Shoulder Patches can now be ordered through the original charter process. As part of the steps for chartering this year, the local league will be asked if they would like to order their shoulder patches now. As a special deal for the league, there are NO SHIPPING CHARGES if they order as part of the original charter. The shoulder emblems will be placed local league kit of supplies and shipped to the League President. (League President must have a physical street address, not a PO BOX address. UPS will not deliver to a PO BOX.)

� Returning Local League Presidents simply can go back to their existing Data Center league account to charter. They do not have start from scratch to do the process like every league had to do last year for the new system.

ITEMS THAT HAVE NOT CHANGED FROM 2011 TO 2012 THAT YOU SHOULD BE AWARE OF.

� Returning league with a NEW PRESIDENT � They need to contact Headquarters in writing that they are taking over the league and need access to the league account in the Data Center. If they call, Headquarters will direct them to submit via email to the service rep prior to giving them any access. This way, Headquarters will have a record of the change.

� All charter fees and insurance fees remain the same for every division of play. This is the third year of no increase any fee.

� Leagues that do not charter and submit payment prior to January 31, 2012, and that have Babe Ruth Insurance, will have a lapse in coverage. The insurance calendar for leagues with Babe Ruth Insurance is February 1, 2011, to January 31, 2012. Leagues should charter early to make sure that they have no lapse in coverage.

� League Kits will start to go out as soon as the league charter and payment is approved.

� New Leagues will charter just like leagues did last year since they have to enter all new info.

Data Center opened for 2013 Charters on January 7, 2013.

BAT RULES FOR 2013 - UNCHANGED - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!

The International Board of Directors has approved the following rule changes beginning with the 2013 season. These changes will be reflected in the 2013 Babe Ruth League, Inc. Rules and Regulations.

All Divisions (Babe Ruth Baseball, Cal Ripken Baseball and Babe Ruth Softball) -All umpires that work Babe Ruth League Tournament games (District, State, Regional and World Series) must be members, in good standing, of the Babe Ruth League National Umpires Association. In the Southeast Region all umpires must be certified by the close of business May 15, 2013 to be eligible to umpire in Area, District, State, and Regional tournaments.
Cal Ripken Baseball Division (Only) �An Extra Hitter �EH� has been approved for Cal Ripken Baseball tournament competition, which includes Cal Ripken Baseball District, State, and Regional competition, as well as the Cal Ripken 10-Year-Old World Series, Cal Ripken Major/60 World Series, and Cal Ripken Major/70 World Series. Prior to the beginning of each tournament game, the manager may elect to add a tenth hitter to the batting order. The player will be indicated in the line-up as the �EH.� The �EH� cannot be added to the line-up once the game begins. The �EH� will be treated as any other starter, and cannot be eliminated during the course of the game. If a team starts with 10 players, the team must finish with 10 players. Penalty shall be a forfeit.
